Police investigate death of woman in North Seattle motel

Seattle police homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found inside an Aurora Avenue North motel last night.

Seal’s Motel manager Kelly Yu said she had grown concerned about the woman, a  longterm guest, because she hadn’t seen her since Saturday. Yu asked her husband to go into the woman’s room and check on her. At around 5:30 p.m. he found the 34-year-old woman dead on the floor, Yu said.

Seattle police confirmed they are investigating the case and have deemed it suspicious. An autopsy was performed on Thursday, but the woman’s identity was not released by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Yu said the woman checked into the motel, at 12035 Aurora Ave N., on Nov. 8 as part of a contract she had with a substance abuse rehabilitation clinic. The woman was supposed to attend rehab and not have any guests in her room, Yu said.
