Seattle police investigate stabbing at Third and Union

Seattle police say a suspected shoplifter stabbed a loss-prevention officer at a downtown business.

A suspect is in custody, police said. The stabbing happened at Third Avenue and Union Street, near Benaroya Hall. The victim appears to have minor injuries, police said.

Southbound lanes of Third Avenue, a major thoroughfare for King County Metro, will be closed at Union Street during the investigation, police said.
