Trees down: Crews temporarily closed I-90 in both directions near Snoqualmie Pass summit this morning to remove three large trees just west of the summit, the state Department of Transportation reports. Eastbound traffic will be stopped up to an hour, at milepost 47 near Denny Creek. Westbound traffic could be stopped for up to three hours — until almost noon — at milepost 53 near the summit. The westbound closure is expected to be longer due to the amount of debris from the trees. Drivers will still be able to get to the summit of Snoqualmie Pass from the east. Even if you are going up there later today, be careful. Road bare, but light rain falling occasionally.
One dead in fire: Everett police are reporting one death in an apartment fire this morning. Thirty-six people have been displaced, the police say. They have closed Hewitt Avenue from Oakes to Wetmore, and detectives are arriving to investigate the fire, which has been put out.
Early Seahawks: Kickoff is at 10 a.m. as the Seahawks face the New York Giants back on the East Coast. The Hawks could clinch the NFC West today and also get home-field advantage throughout the NFL playoffs. You should be settled in watching Channel 13 by now. Don’t spill your cereal.
