Suspect arrested in Bellingham beating death

BELLINGHAM — A man wanted in a beating death at a Bellingham motel has surrendered to police.

Bellingham police say 34-year-old David Alan Solomon turned himself in about 3 a.m. Tuesday and was booked into the Whatcom County Jail for investigation of murder.

Police say he kicked down a door early Sunday and assaulted 33-year-old Ike P. Scarborough who died Monday with severe head injuries.
