Wednesday Memo: TSA monkeyshines … Boeing, union talk … Cyborg strikes again

Beware of armed sock monkeys: Security at our airports is no laughing matter, but you can’t help chuckling at the TSA’s confiscation of a sock money’s 2-inch toy gun A Redmond woman says she had the armed monkey in a carry-on as she went through security earlier this month at St. Louis’ Lambert-International Airport. What do you think of the TSA’s  confiscation of the stuffed monkey’s toy gun? Vote in our poll

Dare we say hope springs eternal? If you’re at all interested in Boeing building its 777x jet in Washington state, a meeting of the Machinists union and Boeing officials just might bring you some joy. Or at least that hope we’re talking about.

Cyborg bank robber strikes again: One of our community partners, Maple Leaf Life, says a guy wearing a homemade mask that covers all of his face hit a Northgate bank recently and may be responsible for at least five other bank stickups in our area in the past six months. The FBI gave him the Cyborg moniker because of his mask.

Weather: It’s expected to be a bit warmer today, and don’t you think we can use it after that long cold snap? That being said, there’s an 80 percent chance of rain tomorrow and a 40 percent chance of showers on Friday. We’ll take the rain for now, as long as the temperature is above freezing!
