Nine thousand Puget Sound Energy and two Seattle City Light customers remain without power Sunday after a windstorm ripped through the area on Saturday, toppling trees and downing power lines.
At its worst, PSE had 40,000 customers without power, said Ray Lane, spokesman. The remaining areas – mostly in Kitsap and North King County – will have power restored by 6 p.m. Sunday, if not earlier, he said. Customers with outages in South King County should have power restored by mid morning.
Seattle City Light at one point had 28,000 without power at the peak of the outage – between 4 and 7 a.m. Saturday, said Scott Thomsen, spokesman. Most were restored that morning but crews had to fight small scattered outages, he said. The remaining two homes should have power restored soon.
