Body of missing man recovered from Lake Washington

The body of a Kenmore man who disappeared Jan. 11 after falling from a boat into Lake Washington was recovered today by the Seattle police Harbor Patrol Unit.

The 51-year-old captain of a sailboat off Magnuson Park was among four men aboard when he fell, police said. A search of the area failed to turn up any sign of the man.

The victim was found in 165 feet of water with the assistance from an expert operator from SeaBotix Inc. using side scanning sonar technology.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will be investigating.
