Driver injured when car hits building in North Seattle

A 63-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition after her car crashed into a building in North Seattle.

Seattle police said the woman apparently drove across four lanes of traffic, went down an embankment and then hit a building in the 11000 block of Lake City Way Northeast. The car ended up on its side.

It wasn’t immediately known if the victim had some sort of medical emergency before hitting the building.

The Seattle Fire Department said the woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center.
