Kirkland police investigating woman’s death

Kirkland homicide detectives are investigating the slaying of a 28-year-old Kirkland woman whose body was found Monday by a roommate in their residence in the 9800 block of Northeast 130th Place.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim on Wednesday as Amy Gang and said the cause of death was asphyxia due to strangulation.

Police spokesman Lt. Mike Murray said the body was found at 3:17 p.m. He said detectives have interviewed a person of interest in connection with the slaying and “are confident it was not a random assault.”

No arrests have been made, he said.
