Man critically wounded in Seattle shooting

Update at 10:13 a.m.:| A man was taken to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center early this morning after being shot in the First Hill neighborhood.

Police and medics were called to the 800 block of 16th Avenue at 2 a.m. for a report of a gunshot. Officers found a man lying in the street, said police spokeswoman Renee Witt.

The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

Witnesses told officers that they saw a red Chevrolet Corvette speed away after the gunshot. Officers found a red Corvette parked two blocks away; the car was impounded.

Police did not release any suspect information.

A man in his 20s was shot in the chest and found about 2 a.m. Wednesday in central Seattle.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries, and fire department medics took him to Harborview Medical Center.

KOMO reports it’s the third shooting this week in a neighborhood near Seattle University. A wounded man was able to walk into a hospital Monday, and shots were fired Monday night into cars and buildings.

Last week a man was stabbed during a robbery on the Seattle University campus. Three people were arrested.
