Man struck by Metro bus in Sodo this morning

A man was struck and injured by a Metro bus in Seattle’s Sodo neighborhood this morning.

Medics were called to Fourth Avenue South and South Holgate Street at 6:13 a.m. on a report of an accident, according to the Seattle Fire Department’s online log.

King County Metro spokesman Jeff Switzer said a Route 355 bus was heading west on Holgate,  attempting to make a right-hand turn onto Fourth Avenue South, when it struck the pedestrian.

The man, 43, was taken to Harborview Medical Center for a leg fracture, said Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore.

Seattle police and Metro are investigating, said police spokesman Mark Jamieson.
