Motorcyclist dies in crash on Renton bike trail

RENTON (AP) — A motorcycle rider fleeing a Washington State Patrol trooper was killed in a crash just before 2 a.m. Thursday in Renton.

The patrol says the rider had left Highway 169 and was on a parallel bicycle trail when he hit a pole.

KING reports the chase began on Interstate 405 when the trooper tried to pull over two motorcycles. He followed the one that crashed. The other one got away.
