NEWBERG, Ore. (AP) — A Newberg woman wants to know what happened to her late husband’s 15 gold teeth after he was cremated.
Beverly Horttor told KATU the funeral home told her the metal vaporizes in the heat.
But the Oregon Mortuary and Cemetery Board says that’s not the case — the temperature does not consume gold and silver. And there’s nothing to stop crematories from recycling the metal.
Horttor says before her husband David died last March he said he wanted his family to receive the metal from his gold teeth and dental work.
