Pilot injured in crash of small plane in Poulsbo

The pilot of a single-engine airplane was injured when the aircraft crashed this afternoon in Poulsbo.

The plane crashed in a clear cut field off of Noll Road Northeast and Northeast Lincoln Road. The pilot was initially unconscious, but awakened and called 911 around 3:30 p.m., according to the North Kitsap Herald.

There were no passengers in the plane.

The pilot was extracted from the aircraft, fitted with a neck brace and taken from the scene in an ambulance, the Herald is reporting.
