Scotch and Seahawks? CenturyLink management sought — and then withdrew — a request for more places to sell drinks with hard liquor in the stadium. The request was to allow drinks with hard liquor to be sold at 82 stations, up from 26, and allow fans to take those drinks to their seats.
Power outages: Crews from Seattle City Light and Puget Sound Energy are working to restore power to thousands of customers after high winds swept through the area overnight.
Consulting contract for former SPD official: Assistant Seattle Police Chief Mike Sanford helped arrange a $45,000 consulting contract with a former department official who had previously cleared him of wrongdoing in an internal investigation, according to sources familiar with the matter. Flu deaths: The state Department of Health reports 11 flu deaths this season, five in King County. The number is not unusual, according to the department. Still, officials urge everyone over the age of 6 months to be vaccinated.
