Seahawks fans gather for loud downtown rally

Hundreds of yelling and cheering Seattle Seahawks fans showcased their team pride at the Blue Friday Rally in Westlake Park today, two days before Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.

Clad in blue-and-green Seahawks gear, the pool of fans filled the park in downtown Seattle for the short noontime rally. The event drew team supporters of all ages.

Appearing at the rally were a number of former Seahawks players, including Randall Morris, Steve Raible, Manu Tuiasosopo and Walter Jones, plus a group of Sea Gal cheerleaders, team mascot “Blitz,” King County Executive Dow Constantine, and Hyeok Kim, Seattle’s deputy mayor for external affairs.

Dyral Levias, 34, of Kent, attended the rally with his wife and 2-year-old daughter, and said he has been a Seahawks fan for more than 15 years. “We gotta support our team, we gotta give the team our 100 percent support, stay behind them all the way,” he said.

Tuiasosopo told the crowd that the team had “the best fans in the universe.”
