Seattle CityClub is accepting nominations for the Jefferson Awards for Public Service in Washington state, an annual honor for all-star but “unsung” heroes who make a difference in their community, the nation or the world through their jobs or volunteer service.
A panel of community leaders will choose five Washingtonians from among the nominees to receive the awards. One of them will be sent to represent the state at the national ceremonies in Washington, D.C.
The national Jefferson Awards process was established in 1972 by the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Senator Robert Taft Jr.
Winners will be recognized at a reception in April. Nominations must be received by CityClub no later Feb. 28.
The awards are sponsored by KING5, Microsoft, Safeco Insurance, Starbucks and Wimmer Solutions.
