Recognize the guy in these surveillance photos?
Seattle detectives would like to talk to him in connection with the New Year’s Day arson at Neighbours nightclub.
According to Seattle police, just after midnight Jan. 1, someone poured gasoline, then set it on fire, on a carpeted stairway at the gay nightclub on Capitol Hill. About 750 people were in the club at the time.
Someone quickly put the fire out with an extinguisher. Someone also pulled a fire alarm, which alerted the crowd to evacuate, and the building’s sprinkler system turned on.
Detectives are attempting to identify the man in the surveillance photos so he can be interviewed, according to police. They are not calling him a suspect.
In addition, anyone who was at Neighbours on New Year’s Eve and may have had contact with the man are urged to contact detectives. Detectives would also like to see any photos that visitors may have taken inside the nightclub that night, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Seattle Police Arson/Bomb Squad detectives at 206-684-8980.
