Highline Medical Center’s Specialty Campus in Tukwila has been purchased by Acadia Healthcare and will now be Cascade Behavioral Hospital, the medical center announced Tuesday.
Cascade Behavioral Health will operate as a freestanding psychiatric and addiction-medicine hospital and continue providing behavioral-health services. The hospital, at 12844 Military Road South, has 63 beds. Acadia will add 22 inpatient psychiatric beds, according to a news release, and transition 50 more beds to inpatient psychiatric beds from other uses.
“The transition in ownership to Acadia Healthcare is exciting,” said Matt Crockett, CEO of Cascade Behavioral Hospital, in a news release. “This change provides an opportunity to expand our psychiatric and addiction-recovery programs to meet the under-served needs of our community.”
Highline Medical Center is a nonprofit healthcare system headquartered in Seattle. Acadia Healthcare, a for-profit concern, operates 52 behavioral health-care facilities in 24 states and Puerto Rico, according to its website.
