520 bridge to be closed 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday

The 520 bridge will be closed this weekend, the state Department of Transportation (DOT) warns.

The closure, between the Montlake Boulevard exit in Seattle and Interstate 405 in Bellevue, starts at 11 p.m. Friday. The highway is to reopen at 5 a.m. Monday.

During the closure, as part of the 520 bridge replacement project, lanes in both directions of 520 on the Eastside will be realigned to prepare for upgrades. Crews will also put in overhead-electronic signs, noise barriers and drainage pipes, DOT says.

On the Seattle side, crews will pour concrete supports for an interim bridge structure to link the new bridge with existing lanes.
