Deputies arrest 5 at cockfight in Eastern Washington

MESA, Franklin County — Five men were arrested when Franklin County sheriff’s deputies broke up a cockfight at Mesa.

The Sheriff’s Office says 20 to 30 men scattered Saturday afternoon as deputies pulled up to the property. Five were arrested on suspicion of animal fighting.

The Tri-City Herald reports about 100 roosters were found on the property.
