Downed line zaps cable for 3,000 Comcast customers in Lake City

A fallen tree that took out a fiber optic line in Lake City at about 8 p.m. Saturday has left about 3,000 Comcast customers without cable, a company spokesman said today.

“Our repair crews could not begin their work until this morning because, due to safety reasons, they had to wait for Seattle City Light to complete its repairs first,” Steve Kipp, Vice President of Communications for Comcast, said in an email Sunday.

As of 11:30 a.m., Kipp said he did not have an estimate for when cable service would be restored to the affected customers.
