Monday Memo: Bike politics … Air commute … Killed by own car

Bicycle organization making changes. The Cascade Bicycle Club is reinventing itself and moving away from politics after years of turmoil. The club, one of the oldest and biggest in the nation, has new leadership and plans for new offices.

Kirkland gondolas? We’re trying to imagine how this might become reality. Because of commute woes and environmental issues, the city is toying with alternative methods for commuters to get around, include using “air gondolas.” Whoa!

Snow death in Bellingham:  A Bellingham man is dead after he was struck by his own car on a snow-covered street yesterday.  His car backed over him as he was trying to clear snow off his back window. Bellingham was hit with a foot of snow yesterday and could see another 3- 5 inches today before the snow turns to rain.

Weather in the Seattle area: Rain and showers are forecast in the Seattle area, but there could be some sun tomorrow. And, the temperatures are expected to rise into the low and mid-50s over the next couple of days. Can spring be far behind? National Weather Service forecast

A man was shot to death in what may have been a robbery in North Seattle last night. When police responded, they found the man in his car, where he died. There was no sign of the alleged robber.
