Update at 4:32 p.m.:| The man was interviewed by detectives and then booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of threats to bomb and felony harassment.
Original post: A naked man was arrested by Lynnwood police after threatening to blow up a state Department of Corrections office, police said.
The 42-year-old man walked into the Corrections office in the 18700 block of 33rd Avenue West just after 9 this morning and started making threats about blowing up the building, according to police. The man had two backpack-sized bags and threw one of them at an interior window in the office building.
A female employee who was hiding inside the building was helped outside by arriving police. The man remained inside of the main office area until just after 10 a.m., when he walked out naked and was arrested, police said.
A Washington State Patrol K-9 unit and Everett Police Department bomb technicians were called in and determined the man’s bags did not contain explosives.
Police say it wasn’t immediately clear whether the man, who reportedly lived in Mountlake Terrace, had any connection with the Department of Corrections office.
