Police closing roads in Renton, ask Hawks fans to stay away today

Seahawks fans may want to celebrate with the team as soon as possible, but Seattle and Renton police are asking that fans wait until the downtown parade Wednesday.

There will be no access or staging areas for fans at either Seattle-Tacoma International Airport or at Virginia Mason Athletic Center when the team arrives in Seattle this evening. Fans are invited to celebrate with the team Wednesday at a parade.

Road closures will include:

  • Seahawks Way closed to vehicles and pedestrians
  • Northeast 44th Street ramp and overpass
  • Lake Washington Boulevard, from North 40th Street to Seahawks Way

Timing of the road closures will depend on when the team arrives.
