School bus hit head-on in Lake Stevens

Two people have been hospitalized after their SUV struck a school bus head-on in Lake Stevens.

The bus driver and two children on the bus were not hurt.

Shortly before 7 a.m. a Chevrolet Tahoe drove into the oncoming lanes at the intersection of South Lake Stevens Road and South Davies Road, said Lake Stevens police Cmdr. Dennis Taylor. The Tahoe is believed to have been driving too fast in the rain.

The Tahoe driver and passenger were injured and both were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Taylor said.

Taylor did not have ages for the people hurt or the ages of the driver and children. He said that investigators have shut down a section of the road to investigate.
