FEDERAL WAY — Police in Federal Way say a woman suspected of shoplifting at a mall led police on a chase that ended with a wreck on Interstate 5 and caused a major traffic jam during the Friday evening commute.
Police say a Federal Way officer was trying to arrest the woman when she jumped into her car and drove right at him, The News Tribune reports.
When officers gave chase, the woman drove onto southbound I-5, then tried to make a U-turn into the northbound lanes. Her car hit two vehicles before coming to a stop. Some minor injuries were reported.
Police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said the woman was arrested.
