Dig out your sunglasses and a light(er) jacket because temperatures are on the rise in the Seattle area.
The National Weather Service says temperatures are up about 10 degrees from last week. Expect partial sunshine and daytime temperatures in the low 50s Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will remain in the 50s through Friday, but clouds will sweep in on Thursday.
The spring-like temperatures won’t last long. A winter-like chill is expected this weekend with daytime highs back down in the 40s, meteorologist Chris Burke said.
At Stevens and Snoqualmie passes, daytime temperatures are expected in the 30s and could hit 40, at least on Thursday. Burke said temperatures will remain in the upper 20s today and tomorrow, “but later in the week, Thursday, we’re saying near 40.”
Mountain temperatures will be back down in the 20s for the weekend, but no significant snow is in the forecast, Burke said.
