OREGON CITY, Ore. — The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says a man suspected of fatally shooting a county road weighmaster remains at large Friday.

A dispatcher says officers continue to look for 41-year-old Dirck Morgan White, of Edgefield, Wash.

He was wanted on an arrest warrant from Pierce County, Wash., for a weapons violation.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says White was driving a pickup truck and trailer loaded with firewood Thursday when the weighmaster pulled him over on Highway 224 near Boring, about 25 miles southeast of Portland. Details of the shooting have not been released.

The suspect may be driving a silver Mercedes-Benz with the Washington license plate ANB7070.

The manhunt has been hampered by heavy snow in the Portland area.
