Accident near Southcenter creates 9-mile backup on I-5

A collision on Interstate 5 northbound just south of I-405 at Southcenter (MP 153) has I-5 backed up for 9 miles.

Incident Response Team and the Washington State Patrol have arrived at the scene, according to a Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) report. No serious injuries are reported at this time.

The backup of people trying to exit I-5 to Highway 18 was 1.5 miles a few minutes after 7 a.m., according to a WSDOT tweet.
