Arrest made in West Seattle killing

Seattle police arrested a 20-year-old man Saturday in the December killing of a 46-year-old woman in her West Seattle home.

Nga Thi Nguyen’s body was discovered Dec. 14 after her daughter arrived home in the 5900 block of Highpoint Drive SW and found the front door unlocked and blood inside.

Nguyen died of blunt force head injuries and strangulation, the King County Medical Examiner’s office determined.

At about 11 a.m. Saturday, the 20-year-old suspect in Nguyen’s death was arrested at his home in the 10700 block of 18th Avenue SW in White Center, according to Seattle police Det. Jeff Kappel.

The man was interviewed by homicide detectives and booked into King County Jail for investigation of murder.

No other suspects are being sought in the case, Kappel said.
