Fired Eastside Catholic vice principal to sue school, archdiocese

Mark Zmuda, the vice principal of Eastside Catholic School, who was fired in December after marrying his same-sex partner, will file a lawsuit Friday against the school and the Archdiocese of Seattle, his attorneys announced in a press release today.

Zmuda will discuss the lawsuit’s claims during a news conference in the Seattle offices of his attorneys, Friedman Rubin.

Zmuda’s dismissal from the Eastside sparked student protests and eventually led to the resignation of the school’s president, Sister Mary Tracy.
