Greenwood homicide suspect taken into custody at Sea-Tac Airport

Police at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport this morning took into custody a 17-year-old suspect in Sunday’s fatal Greenwood shooting.

Seattle police said they received information that the teenager planned to board a plane. Port of Seattle Police took him into custody.

KING 5 has reported the teen is a student at Ballard High School. Police say there are no other suspects.

David L. Peterson, 54, was pronounced dead in his parked car at North 85th Street and First Avenue Northwest after he called 911 just before 9 p.m., Sunday, saying he’d been robbed at gunpoint, according to Seattle police. He had been shot once.

Three people were seen running from the area, police said.
