Man dies in avalanche at Granite Mountain near Snoqualmie Pass

A man died in an avalanche Saturday at Granite Mountain near Snoqualmie Pass.

The man was hiking with another man when the avalanche hit them. The man who died was buried in the snow, but the other man was able to dig himself free and walked out to get help, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Rescue crews searched for the missing hiker Saturday until dark without finding him and resumed the search Sunday morning when they found him about 8 a.m.
