Man pleads guilty in fatal Federal Way crash

A Federal Way man charged with vehicular homicide for driving drunk and causing a December 2013 crash that killed a passenger in his car pleaded guilty today.

Jeffrey Waterfall, 56, drove a 2003 Ford Mustang into a telephone pole in the 29000 block of Redondo Way South on Dec. 23 in Federal Way, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Kurtis D. Nevin, 52, was killed in the crash.

When Waterfall was taken to a hospital to be evaluated, testing indicated he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.232 percent, nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Waterfall will be sentenced April 25. He faces a sentencing range of 78 to 102 months in prison.
