Marysville police arrested a 27-year-old Renton man Friday for allegedly identifying himself as a law- enforcement officer while robbing two men last month.
The man is suspected of wearing SWAT gear and identifying himself as “task force” when he pointed a gun at two people Feb. 6 and ordered them out of their car, according to police. He allegedly frisked them, told them not to move, and took “a large amount of cash” from one of the men’s wallets.
Marysville police, with assistance from the Department of Homeland Security and Renton Police Department, identified the suspect through cell-phone logs. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
