Update at 1:09 p.m.:| Two people will be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of second-degree murder and first-degree robbery as a result of the stabbing, Edmonds police say.

Edmonds police says the fatal stabbing wasn’t random and that all parties involved knew each other.

Police are not releasing additional suspect information. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the victim.

Original post:| A man is dead and another is injured after a stabbing outside a QFC store in Edmonds this morning.

Edmonds police Assistant Chief Jim Lawless said officers were called to the Westgate QFC at 5:55 a.m. for a report of a disturbance.

Officers found a man dead in the parking lot; witnesses reported seeing a white Cadillac speeding away from the scene.

Police found the Cadillac a short distance away. A man in the vehicle was injured, apparently having suffered stab wounds. A woman in the car was not hurt, Lawless said. The man was taken to Swedish Edmonds and his medical condition is unknown. The woman is being questioned by officers.

Detectives are still investigating a motive for the stabbing. Police have not said how the three people are connected.
