Pipe break in Bellevue cuts off water to 25 homes

A water-main break in Bellevue cut off water to 25 homes this morning.

Utility crews have been working to replace 18 feet of the six-inch line since it burst at 3:30 a.m., said Wendy Hairfield, spokeswoman for the city’s Department of Utilities.

“They expect everybody to be back in service later today,” Hairfield said

“We don’t know the reason,” she said. “We don’t know the extent of the damage at this point.”

The water main break affected the Surrey Downs neighborhood, 900 block of 110th Avenue Southeast, which is near Bellevue High School. Three homes had standing water in them, Hairfield said.
