Sorority residents interrupt burglary, suspect still at large

A male suspect remains at large after he was discovered inside a sorority house during an early morning burglary, according to a Seattle Police Department release.

Officers responded at approximately 3:51 a.m. to the 4500 block of 22nd Avenue NE for the report of a burglary. Preliminary investigation indicates that the house was unoccupied when the suspect apparently cut a screen on a second floor window to make entry, the report says.

The women residing at the house came home and found the suspect in one of the rooms. The suspect fled down a back hallway and stairs and the women ran to the kitchen and called 911.

The back door was open and the suspect at large, when responding officers arrived a few minutes later, according to the police department release. Officers are still searching for the suspect with the assistance of a canine unit (there is not a good suspect description available at this time).
