Police arrest 3 after University District shooting

UPDATE, 6:20 p.m. | Three people were arrested this evening after a shooting where one man was seriously injured in the University District.

Police responded to several reports of gunfire near Northeast 47th Street and Brooklyn Avenue Northeast shortly before 5:15 p.m. Officers found a 40-year-old man with a single gunshot wound lying on the ground nearby. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

Officers arrested five people in connection with the shooting after searching the area for several vehicles that had fled the scene moments after the shooting. Two were identified and released, SPD said.

UPDATE, 5:40 p.m. | The man who was shot has been taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition, the Seattle Fire Department said.

ORIGINAL POST | Officers are responding to a shooting in Seattle’s University District, according to the Seattle Police Department.

A man was shot in his side at Northeast 47th Street and Brooklyn Avenue Northeast.

Officers have stopped several vehicles associated with the shooting. At least two people have been taken into custody.
