Thursday Memo: North Bend suspect freed … Body blunder … Teen killed

Well, someone’s breathing a sigh of relief this morning: How did this happen? DNA clears man arrested in North Bend rape, assault

And here’s yet another blunder: Woman preparing to bury daughter discovers it’s not her

Then there’s this: Corrections officer accidentally shoots self at Tukwila gun range

Tragic: A 17-year-old kid was shot dead in White Center last night.

Dead eagles: Two of them — an adult male and an older juvenile — were found shot dead near Forks on Saturday, apparently as they were perched on a branch. Come on, people.

Computer, backpack returned: We wrote yesterday about the Yakima man who put his backpack and computer in what he thought was his car the other day, only to discover later that he’d put it in a car that looked a lot like his. Well, the owner of that other car found the missing goods and has returned them to their rightful owner. The Yakima Herald-Republic has the story.

Weather: Chance of showers today, but, hey, mostly sunny tomorrow! Rain returns Saturday, then sunny skies again on Sunday. Not perfect, but not too shabby.
