She financed her education by acting in porn flix: And, she’s from Spokane. The Duke University freshman who appeared in porn films to help pay for school is a graduate of the private Catholic high school Gonzaga Prep in Spokane. While there, she was noted for her public service, volunteering and honors in foreign languages, according to The Spokesman Review. She hopes to become a lawyer to advocate for sex workers.

That ski lift killer was a doozy: The avalanche at Crystal Mountain that took out a ski lift — which will take $1.5 million to $2 million to replace — is said to be a 4 on an avalanche scale where 5 is the worst. What does that mean? A size 4, according to the Canadian Avalanche Association, typically has a mass of 10,000 tons and can “destroy a railway car, large truck, several buildings.” Like we said, a real doozy.

UW Med School tops in primary care education once again.  That’s No. 1 in the whole country, says U.S. News & World in its latest graduate-program analysis. The mag ranked the College of Education seventh, the Law School 24th, the Foster School of Business 25th and the College of Engineering 26th. Not too shabby.

Let’s include everyone: An employee group at South Puget Sound Community College has apologized for sending out an email inviting only people of color to a happy hour last week. In fact, the event has been canceled. The school says the email could have been worded differently. KING5 has the story.

Weather: Sunny today and a temperature in the low 60s. Shorts anyone? National Weather Service forecast
