Wounded in shooting, man falls out of window and calls 911

Auburn police say that a man was shot, fell or was pushed out of a window, and then managed to dial 911 early this morning.

At 12:40 a.m., the 28-year-old walked into a room at the Days Inn, 1521 D St. N.E., and was shot in the abdomen. The man then jumped, or was thrown, out of the motel room window, according to Auburn police.

The man then managed to get to the motel lobby, where he called for help.

When officers arrived two men and a woman who were in the motel room when the man was shot were gone, police said.

The wounded man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in stable condition. It is unknown at this time why the victim met the suspects at the motel.

“It was an attempted robbery. He was shot in the buttocks and it lodged in his hip,” said Auburn police Cmdr. Mike Hirman.
