2 names added to list of those missing in mudslide

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has added two names to the list of those missing in the Oso-area mudslide, which now totals 17.

The names include that of Victor W. Ford, 44. And an unidentified man listed as a John Doe, believed to be between 50 and 60 years of age.

Earlier today, the sheriff’s office released a list of names of the missing when the number stood at 15.

The death toll from the slide is at 30, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Among the unidentified remains are those of a man who is proving to be difficult to identify, authorities said.

Authorities said the man has had extensive dental work with gold fillings in his mouth. The set of remains does not fit with the description on the missing persons list.

Without possible family members to compare, DNA tests are useless. It wasn’t immediately known if this set of remains is connected to the John Doe added to the missing list.
