Chemicals found in Belltown building prompt evacuation

UPDATE, 11:55 p.m. | Occupants have been allowed back into the Belltown apartment building after the hazmat response, SFD said.

The incident is under investigation by the Seattle Police Department.

ORIGINAL POST | Chemicals found inside a room prompted an evacuation of a Belltown apartment building tonight, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

Hazmat crews entered the building, located at First Avenue and Cedar Street, to test chemicals found inside a room on the sixth floor.

No injuries have been reported, SFD said.
