Man, 20, fatally shot in Seattle’s Leschi neighborhood

A 20-year old male is dead of gunshot wounds after a shooting in Seattle’s Leschi neighborhood Thursday evening.

Seattle Police Department spokesman Jeff Kappel said officers responded to a call of shots fired at 6:44 and arrived two minutes later to find the victim lying in the street at 28th Avenue South and South Lane.

Police immediately started CPR, he said. Fire department medics arriving at the scene took over the CPR, but pronounced the teen dead of multiple gunshot wounds.

Other calls to 911 reported a car speeding off southbound and a man running away northbound, but Kappel said no one at the scene was willing to give police additional information.

He said homicide and gang detectives are on the scene continuing to investigate the shooting. No suspect information is available.
