Seattle police recovered a gun but didn’t find the gunman after someone opened fire on two men in a car Wednesday on North Beacon Hill.
The two men were driving on South Hanford Street near 18th Avenue South around 6 p.m. when they missed a turn, police said. When the driver put the car in reverse, they heard four to five gunshots.
The driver accelerated and struck a parked car on South Hanford, according to police. Police responded and found a bullet hole in the driver’s-side door, but neither the driver nor the passenger was injured in the shooting or the collision.
Police searched the area but did find the gunman. However, police recovered a 9mm handgun in the 1700 block of South Hanford.
