Renton runner who died on sidewalk identified

A runner collapsed and died on a sidewalk in Renton around noon today, according to the Renton Police Department.

Renton police have tentatively identified him as a 46-year-old Renton resident after issuing a news release earlier this afternoon asking for the public’s help. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the man’s name and determine how he died.

The man was found unconscious in the 4200 block of Northeast 10th Place in the Renton Highlands around noon.

Officers found the unresponsive male on the sidewalk and performed CPR with the assistance of King County medics, but were not able to resuscitate him.

The death does not appear suspicious, police said.
