Three hurt after brief police chase in Everett

Three people suffered minor injuries after a police chase in Everett Saturday, including the occupant of a car struck by the suspect vehicle.

The incident occurred about 1:45 p.m. when a Snohomish County deputy saw a vehicle on 112th Street Southeast with a male passenger known to have a felony warrant. The deputy tried to stop the vehicle but it fled northbound on 7th Avenue.

The pursuit was quickly terminated by a patrol sergeant, but the suspect vehicle then struck two cars stopped for traffic at Everett Mall Way.  An occupant of one of those cars was hurt. Lt. Kathi Lang, of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said she did not know the gender of the injured person.

All three occupants of the fleeing vehicle ran from the scene, the sheriff’s office reported. The female driver and a female passenger were located, but the male passenger got away. The two women were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  A news release said the driver was expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for felony eluding a police officer.

It was later determined the vehicle they were in had been reported stolen in Bothell.
