Trooper injured when patrol car struck on I-405

A Washington State Patrol trooper sustained minor injuries when her patrol car was struck while she was responding to a disabled vehicle blocking southbound traffic on Interstate 405 tonight.

A vehicle was slowing as it approached the trooper at I-405 and Northeast 160th Street and was struck by another vehicle, the State Patrol said. The first vehicle then hit the trooper’s car, which had minor damage. The driver of the second vehicle drove away from the scene.

The incident was the second time in three nights that a State Patrol car was hit by another vehicle, according to the Patrol.
